Prominent Republicans Break With Trump

Saying President Donald Trump has “drifted away” from the Constitution, former Republican Secretary of State Colin Powell endorsed Democrat Joe Biden for president yesterday. Meanwhile, Sen. Mitt Romney, who’s long clashed with Trump over what the Republican Party should stand for, became the first GOP senator to join mass protests against police brutality, marching in front of the White House with a Christian group Sunday. As for voters, a new poll of Republicans found that only 46 percent think the country is on the right track, compared to 70 percent in March — but 63 percent still plan to vote for Trump.
