Are you like me? I wake up every morning with a great sigh of relief. I don’t cringe when I check my phone. No crazy quotes from an unhinged president.
Just the confident, calming effects of an avuncular President, a working Joe who cares about the things I care about. He’s ferreting out more vaccine, reversing all of those insane Executive Orders, returning us to WHO and the Paris peace accord. He’s even showing compassion to the hundreds, perhaps thousands of children kidnapped from their parents in the name of immigration. He even came out to declare that no one, not his daughter or her husband (don’t know if he really has either) would work in the White House. How strange a world we’ve created when such a statement is even necessary.
There are many things to be thankful for this day. Top on my list is that I got my country back. I know we’re not there yet. It’s going to take time to fix all the damage that was done over the past four years – but as the old adage goes, when you’re in a hole, first stop digging.
We’ve stopped digging.
